Our Problem ... Separation

God is perfect. “Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect,” Matthew 5:48.

God is loving. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life,” John 3:16. “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation [satisfactory sacrifice] for our sins,” 1 John 4:10. “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,” Romans 5:8.

Man is imperfect. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23. “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all,” James 2:10.

Man is separated from God. “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,” Isaiah 59:2. “Dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,” 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord,” Romans 6:23.

God’s Solution ... Substitution

God’s part is substitution. Jesus said, “I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins,” John 8:24. Peter wrote, “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed,” 1 Peter 2:24. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me,” John 14:6. Paul wrote, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day,” 1 Corinthians 15:3-5. And Paul wrote, “There is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time,” 1 Timothy 2:5-6.

Believing in Him is your part of the solution. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,” John 1:12. “Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins,” Acts 10:43. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26.
